Muktamar is the highest negotiation in Muhammadiyah. The congress is usually understood by ordinary people as a moment of regeneration of the management of the Muhammadiyah central leadership. The 48th Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Congress was held in Surakarta, Central Java for 5 days from November 17-21, 2022. This year’s event was enlivened by the Muktamar Fair and Muktamar Innovation and Technology Expo.
Muktamar Innovation and Technology Expo abbreviated as MITE is an exhibition of innovation and technology presented by educational institutions under Muhammadiyah from high school level to Muhammadiyah universities throughout Indonesia.
Muhammadiyah University of Malang became the university with the most expo stands exhibiting six innovation technologies. One of them is the Metaverse School Center of Excellence (CoE) program. As a form of the latest digital technology innovation that has not been widely developed, the metaverse school became the exhibition with the most visitors among other technology exhibitions presented by Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
Participants and visitors alike lined up to try the metaverse. Visitors who tried the metaverse varied, from children to adults also tried the metaverse. Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang introduced the metaverse as a digital technology innovation that is very flexible in meeting the needs of human activities.
